Vestas Wind Systems A/S (VWS) gained a 33-megawatt wind turbine order from Borusan EnBW Enerji in Turkey in the final deal of a framework accord they unveiled in March.
Vestas will supply 10 of its 3.3-megawatt V112 machines to the Fuat RES wind power plant in the city of Izmir in western Turkey, the Aarhus, Denmark-based manufacturer said today in a statement on its website. The turbines are due for delivery in the final quarter of the year, with commissioning of the wind farm expected in the second quarter of 2015, it said.
The contract is the fifth of an agreement announced by Vestas this year to supply 207 megawatts of machines to five wind farms being developed by the Turkish customer. The client is a joint venture between German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (EBK) and Turkey’s Borusan Holding AS.
