Nordex has secured three contracts for a total of 44.4 MW in Turkey.
Under the first contract, the company will be supplying Sancak Enerji with six Generation Delta N117/3000 turbines for the Urla wind farm in Izmir. The second contract is for nine Generation Gamma N117/2400 turbines for the 21.6 MW Yenihisar wind farm, which will be Yeni Enerji’s first project. Finally, Nordex is supplying two N117/2400 turbines for the Pitane wind farm in the Izmir region for Bicakcilar Enerji. This also marks Bicakcilar Enerji’s first foray into wind power.
Nordex notes that the towers - and, in some cases, the rotor blades - are being sourced locally in Turkey; therefore, all three projects will be eligible for higher feed-in tariffs. The company will be executing the wind farms between spring and summer 2015.
