Alstom wins 51MW Turkish contract
TURKEY: Alstom is to supply turbines with a total capacity of 51MW to Turkish company Petkim for installation on a wind farm in the country.
Alstom will install its ECO110 turbines on the project
The French manufacturer will install 17 ECO110 3MW turbines at the project in the west of Turkey.
The project will be completed in two phases, with the first — 27MW — stage due to be completed in 2015, and the second phase of 24MW expected to be operating by the end of 2016.
Alstom will provide operations and maintenance at the project for a period of 15 years. The deal is worth EUR 55 million, according to a statement from Petkim.
Petkim is Turkey's largest petrochemicals company, but has previously developed wind projects.
This year looks likely to be a strong one for Turkey, with the country expected to add 1GW of new capacity. This is up from around 800MW last year and roughly 500MW added in 2012.
