EDF commissions a 30 MW wind farm in Turkey with Enercon wind turbines
On the West Coast, in the Aegean region, the Seyitali wind farm is located in the province of Izmir, a region with extremely favourable wind conditions. The wind farm is equipped with fifteen Enercon wind turbines, each with a unit capacity of 2MW.
The wind energy project was developed and built by Polat Enerji, a 50/50 subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles and Adnan Polat Group; a well-known and experienced wind power developer and the local partner of EDF Energies Nouvelles since 2008.
Following the commissioning of Burgaz in 2007 (14.9MW), Sayalar in 2008 (34.2MW) and Soma 1 in 2010 (79.2MW), this wind power project strengthens the Group's position in Turkey. EDF Energies Nouvelles boasts a total gross installed capacity of 158.3MW (59.4MW net) in the country as well as 205.8 MW under construction.
EDF Energies Nouvelles, with operations in Europe and North America, is a market leader in green electricity production. With a development focused on wind energy for several years and more recently on solar power photovoltaic, the Group is also present in other segments of the renewable energies market: small hydro, marine energy, biomass, biofuel and biogas. In addition, the Group is expanding in the distributed renewable energies sector. EDF Energies Nouvelles is a subsidiary of the EDF Group.
